An early start takes you to the airport for a scenic 45-minute flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu region. Upon landing, begin your trek, following a gentle trail to Phakding. Day 8 of the Everest Base Camp trek is dedicated to active recovery in the beautiful Sherpa settlement of Dingboche. To ensure your body adapts safely to the thinning air, we follow the "climb high, sleep low" philosophy with a rewarding excursion to Nagarjun Hill (also known as Nangkartshang Peak).

Trek through alpine meadows and glacial moraines as the altitude increases significantly. The path offers incredible views of the Khumbu Icefall, Pumori, and other surrounding peaks. After approximately 5-6 hours of walking, you'll arrive at the small settlement of Lobuche.

This is a challenging but monumental day. Trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base Camp (EBC). Wake up before dawn for the strenuous but rewarding hike to Kala Patthar ("Black Rock"). The climb offers the most iconic, unobstructed sunrise view of Mount Everest's summit. Continue your descent through the Khumbu region, passing through Pangboche again and eventually making your way to the quieter village of Phortse. After days of high-altitude trekking, the relative hustle and bustle of Namche will feel welcoming. Enjoy a well-deserved rest, perhaps doing some last-minute souvenir shopping.
